In 2018, I spent $340,000 renovating my mother's Palm Beach home.

During our first meeting, he promised us everything:

Here's what actually happened:

Calls went unreturned for days. The marble we'd chosen? "Unavailable" three months in. They installed a cheaper substitute without asking. The custom hardware we'd picked? They used builder-grade instead because "it's basically the same thing."

What was supposed to be four months stretched to eight. Every detail became a battle. Every decision we'd discussed was suddenly "not included" or required an upcharge.

The renovation was completed. But the experience had been so miserable – so full of broken promises and small dismissals – that my mother couldn't enjoy it.
